People have begun to realize the destructive consequences of their past actions in the condition of the planet; right now, many are converting to ecologically friendly ways of living. On the same vein, the renovations industry is now finding ways and techniques to utilize that are friendly to the environment.

Recycling and reusing are the common processes in the house renovations industry. The challenge is to creatively come up with ways to reuse and/or recycle scrap materials and incorporate them in the newly renovated houses. An example would be solar panels created out of an old baby's crib that a homeowner initially intended to throw away. Plywood walling can be salvaged and transformed into room dividers and bookcases.

Certainly, environmentally sound home renovation does not exclusively mean only reusing and recycling; there are still renovating supplies that have to be purchased from stores. An example of necessary renovations supply that should be bought would be "green" paint - which is composed of substances that have no adverse effects to the environment.

Another positive effect of ecologically friendly renovations is on a couple's relationship - this is apart from doing a good turn for the environment.

The couples discuss their ideas about the ongoing household renovations and their goal that the process should be ecologically friendly. Couples may have disagreements about a lot of things unrelated to their renovations project. However, when it comes to home renovations with a specific goal (in this one, being an ecologically friendly renovation) they usually recognize that they must not allow their disagreements to affect how the house would turn out.

In this renovation project, partners are more amicable and can almost instantly bow down to each other's good sense instead of fighting to have the final say. Useless bickering, couples realize, have no place in a project that is also dedicated to the conservation of the earth.

Couples realize that by working together in their ecologically friendly renovation, which is their way of showing respect and gratitude to the environment, they put the spark back in their relationships. And when the final board is hammered in place and the dust eventually settles, couples learn that they not only preserved the environment but their relationships as well.
